In 1909, Savannah Coffee Company was first established by Edgar R. Morrison at 130 Bay Street, Savannah. For more than 100 years, Savannah Coffee Roasters has poured art into every cup. Connoisseurs and novices alike celebrate the satisfyingly smooth notes of each varietal, blend and flavored coffee. Experience first-hand how these masters roast the freshest and finest beans from all over the world. Discover your favorite flavor and share a pound (or two) with a friend.
In 1909, Edgar R Morrison at only 21 years of age established Savannah Coffee Company at 130 W Bay Street, Savannah. No doubt this was under the tutelage of his Father, David Morrison who ran D J Morrison and Sons dry grocers from the mid 1800’s at 216-218 W Broughton Street, Savannah.
Edgar’s love of coffee roasting has endured and his eye for what makes ‘good’ coffee watches over us as we steer the ship 100 years later. Our approach is that it is Roasted Fresh—Because it should be!
All those years ago, the Savannah Coffee Company story started something that coffee connoisseurs have delighted in finishing ever since. Of course, you may never drink anyone else’s coffee again! It’s only natural that our coffee has that effect. By hand roasting small batches, and only using the best Arabica beans, our roast-master draws out the subtle nuances of flavor, hidden in every bean.
As a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America we are part of that select group who strives to provide the best, quality coffees that are considered to be amongst the finest coffee beans. The way we see it, there is no substitute for “The Best Cup of Coffee in America!” And after all, you deserve the best! Life’s too short to endure ‘bad’ coffee.
Lori Collins always found coffee to be bitter and so to drink it – sugar and milk needed to dramatically improve the taste for me. Finding Savannah Blend and our delicious Plantation Blend and tasting for the first time.
